James Waring

Godparents: James Bailey and Elizabeth Bailey.
Clifford Leeming reported that James went to Coventry to work in the car industry.


Joseph Leeming

Born at 8, Richard Street, Preston (details from family bible and birthcertificate).
He played football for Bury, Tranmere Rovers and England.
Toured South Africa in 1913 as a member of England football team (Joe Leeming born 1955] / IdaGrill has photo). Won numerous medals at football, including 2 FA Cup medals with Bury, 2 Southern League, 2 Southern Cup and 2 Charity Shield.
He had one leg amputated in his seventies. Died at 80, High Street,Turton after refusing to have second grangrenous leg removed.
Buried at St.Annes Churchyard, Turton on 5/5/1962 after Requiem Mass at St.Aldhelm's RC Church.


Hannah (Annie) Hodgkinson

DOB from family bible, confirmed by birth cert. Always known as Annie.Some time lived at Baxter Head, Affetside (source Doreen Leeming) and Edward St, Bury (Marriage cert).
She had a brother, who lived at Entwistle.
1881 Census. ? at Mottram, aged 5 (born Toddington, should beTottington). Not found in Bury on 1891 census. Mother was'unbalanced/alcoholic ?', so raised by Grannie LYNDSAY (or should this be FINLEY?) at Affetside.
Walked 5 mile to work at Garnet's mill in Eagley near Bolton every day.
Although not very tall, she ruled the roost. Died at 80 High St. Turton aged 80.
Buried at St.Annes Churchyard, Turton on 4 Jan1957 after Requiem Mass at St.Aldhelm's RC Church, Edgworth.


Elsie Leeming

Died a spinster at 80, Hight St., Turton, the family home. The house was sold the same year.


James Waring

1901 Census: 11 yrs old. Living with his family.


Bernard Waring

Evidence of Bernard's existence is the inscription at the bottom of the gravestone of Richard Leeming.


Nellie Freeman

1901 Census: Age 5. Living with her parents and 4 sisters and 4 brothers.
